Food, Glorious Food….
This turkey is beautiful! It is my son’s work of art from Thanksgiving 2010.
Today is the day for traditional food… and not so traditional. Tradition is topped by turkey and dressing, but the side dishes vary from family to family. No matter what, everything seems to taste better than usual.
Fried Corn
The pilgrims and Native Americans ate corn in most pictures and stories depicting the first meal of thanks in 1621. Not sure if was fried corn, but that is one way I like it, so that is what I made today. The most difficult part for me used to be getting the kernels off the cob without spreading them all over the kitchen. A friend showed me how to cut it off without losing half the kernels.
Is that neat or what?!!?
